Let's continue exploring North Battleford. The former Andrew Carnegie Library houses one of the finest collections of paintings by a First Nations artist in the country, the late Allen Sapp. The Allen Sapp Museum of Fine Arts offers its visitors moving images depicting the painter's life, especially his family and his community of Red Pheasant. Allen Sapp's works provide a fascinating window into the day-to-day life of the surrounding First Nations people in the aftermath of World War II, which clashes with the economic boom that the rest of North America was experiencing at the time. The museum is open daily from June to September, from 11 A.M. to 5 P.M. The rest of the year, it opens from Wednesday to Sunday, from 12 P.M. to 4 P.M. Additional Info: renowned Scottish naturalized American philanthropist Andrew Carnegie helped with the construction of the building as part of his program to build public libraries across North America.
