Casino Regina

The city's former Union Station is home to Casino Regina. Completed in 1912, the building is made of Tyndal stone. The provincial government (SaskGaming) owns and operates the casino.

In 1931, the building underwent a significant expansion and a more straightforward Art Deco style, still using Tyndall stone now adorns the original facade. In addition, Terrazzo floors, marble support columns, and moulded plaster ceilings were added to the interior. In the early 1990s, cutbacks in rail service across Canada led to the station's closure. After the closure, its fate remained uncertain for several years.

Finally, in 1995, a $37 million construction project led to the conversion of the vacant station into a casino that opened the following year.
