This museum honours the ties between former Prime Minister of Canada John G. Diefenbaker and the city of Prince Albert. It was built in 1912 and purchased in 1947 by the Right Honorable Prime Minister of Canada, John Diefenbaker and his wife, Edna Diefenbaker, from Mr. Wesley E. Acorn. Olive Diefenbaker, the second wife of John Diefenbaker, moved into the house after Edna's death and remained there until 1975, when they donated the house to the City of Prince Albert to be converted into a museum. The Prince Albert Historical Society manages the museum. The John and Olive Diefenbaker Museum was designated a National Historic Site on January 12, 2018.
