Fort Battleford is the perfect place to learn about the role the North-West Mounted Police played in Western Canada's history and development. You can walk around the fort grounds among the five restored buildings and visit the interpretive exhibition in the barracks. The reconstruction is superb, like the palisades and the site of the fort. It offers an exceptional panorama of one of the most beautiful landscapes of Saskatchewan: the valley of the North Saskatchewan River. You can go hiking in an enchanting setting. The campground, located directly outside the palisades, is a place that will fill the visitor with serenity and tranquillity, given the evocative spirit of the area.
The site is open daily from the end of June until Labor Day, from 10 A.M. to 4 P.M., in mid-May to late June, call for opening days.
