Crossmount Cider Company

The cider house trend took some time to take hold in Saskatchewan, but it was worth the wait. Located a few minutes south of Saskatoon, the Crossmount Cider Company offers a tasting experience of apple ciders produced in an orchard of 1,500 trees with varieties of apple trees grown on the prairies in a pastoral setting. Some cultivars were developed at the University of Saskatchewan, including the old prairie variety 'Norkent.' These varieties possess a blend of distinctive flavours typical of traditional ciders and higher tannins. The company plans to add pears to produce perry, apple varieties for ice cider production, and a pick-your-own area with apple varieties from the popular "Honeycrisp" apple family.
