Waskesiu Heritage Museum

The Waskesiu Heritage Museum showcases Waskesiu Lake and Prince Albert National Park's social history since it opened in 1928. The museum features an original canvas-roofed tent cabin and a replica camp kitchen from the early days in Waskesiu. Other outdoor exhibits include a fire tower cupola, a portable cabin and shed affectionately known as the doghouse, a wagon carrying a canoe, and wash day gear. An original log building houses exhibitions.

The Waskesiu Heritage Museum is open this summer, but visitors are encouraged to check their website for up-to-date information on hours and activities the pandemic has modified. Heritage Moments is an online guide to 41 historical places in Waskesiu. Take a moment to browse the round signs on buildings around town with your smartphone. You will be linked to online information, including photos, stories, videos, and music. Pick up a map and brochure at the Museum or the Visitor Centre.
