Le Parc régional du lac Thomson

The park is located along the Lake Thomson Reservoir shoreline. It is named after Dr. L. B. Thomson who saw an oasis on the prairie while others saw an irrigation and water supply project. Laflèche and Gravelbourg's far-sighted residents embraced his vision, and the seed of Thomson Lake Regional Park was sown.

Needless to say, the park has changed considerably since its official opening on July 10, 1961. In the beginning, the park was proud of its sandy beach, bathhouse, playground, nine-hole golf course, twelve campgrounds, and sixty-four cabin lots. The lake was originally stocked with rainbow trout supplemented over the years by pike, perch, and walleye. Fishing is popular not only in summer but also in winter.

The park has truly become a destination park for travellers, campers, and golfers. An outdoor swimming pool welcomes swimmers, and a small marina allows boating enthusiasts to indulge in the water sports that challenge them.
