Wolseley

Population: 852 (2021 census)

Wolseley is known as the "town around the lake." The town was established in early 1882 and retained its cachet since the city has maintained and restored many historic buildings. Did you know that the famous hardware chain "Le Castor Bricoleur" (Beaver Lumber) first store opened there in 1883? Saskatchewan's oldest courthouse was also built in Wolseley in 1895. The town hosts the oldest continuously operating public library for a community since 1893. Wolseley is also home to the Twilite Drive-In Theatre, one of the few remaining drive-ins in Saskatchewan. Discover the historic charm of this attractive city and enjoy a walk on the suspended pedestrian bridge that crosses the lake.
